-Generic Karitzuian Traits-
A simple list of traits that are distinctly Karitzuian, but not exclusive to them and not applicable to every Karitzuian species; a stereotype, if you will.
- Many Karitzuians have a strong free will, and are ready to defend their freedom, even if it's ill-perceived or will lead to unnecessary violence.
- Karitzuians psychologically need a leader in any situation, just like with people. Without boundaries manifested by a being, and enforced by that same being, things can spiral into anarchy far too quickly.
- Obscenities aren't common in the Karitzuian Galaxy, as there is simply a cultural stigma against it. There are plenty of insults out there however, usually in reference to rank (which often coincide with physical capabilities) or intelligence; some Karitzuians stun other races simply because they put thought into their insults!
- Karitzuians believe that the only way to prevent future injury is to be armed and ready for conflict. Weapon prohibitions are practically nonexistent in the galaxy, and almost every citizen is armed in some way and/or has some form of combat training, as even youngsters are given the basics in self-defense.
- To add on to the above, many Karitzuian skills have some sort of "survival" class that is like a weekly road-trip to the wilderness; there, youngsters are taught the basics of survival (how to start a fire, how to purify stream water, etc.); it's basically like a boy scout club that's integrated into the school.
- Being overly-confident or arrogant is a common flaw in Karitzuians; they tend to do stupid things during times of peace, just like any bored warrior, and will readily rise up to any challenges.
- The Karitzuian Galaxy is militaristic, even though they aren't active conquerors. Once the Galaxy was firmly established much of the internal fighting ceased; most conflict is now limited to provocations to the Galaxy from outside of its boundaries.
- Some races find this awkward... but the Karitzuian Galaxy doesn't put a demand on clothing as long as nothing "banned" is showing, so a lot of Karitzuians that are completely covered in fur, feathers, scales, or other things just don't wear clothing since there's nothing to worry about. However, it isn't uncommon to spot Karitzuians walking around in armor, for protection or for decoration.
- Karitzuians have extreme physical endurance; as long as a wound is clean and properly maintained it can heal in a matter of days, for deeper injuries only a few weeks.
- Not many Karitzuians have short life spans; most have rather long or even indeterminable ones, probably to make up for their low birth rates.
- Karitzuians have a one-way digestive system, meaning they don't produce waste after eating food. This makes them less demanding of their shelters, but also makes them more prone to vomiting if they eat something bad.
- Conversely, Karitzuians have a strong immune system, so if their bodies can they will fight off invasive, foreign bodies.
- Karitzuians don't have external reproductive organs; it's all internal, preventing injury to the organs, and they have the space anyway since their digestive tracks are different. They also lack certain cycles that are needed to keep this "gear" working; their bodies practically stagnate on these things, it seems...
- Karitzuians don't have a true mating instinct (meaning it either doesn't exist or functions rather differently from anything known of on Earth), as they take anything romantic very seriously, don't go through hormonal phases that make them more or less prone to romance, and have little to no sex drive. This does severely limit their populations, however their endurance and long lives make up for it.
- Karitzuians have a strange predatory instinct that makes them more prone to violence whenever passionately angry or just downright enraged. It's presumed that without this instinct, the death rate for Karitzuians would be too low; as a better way to say it, it's God's way of balancing things out.
- In many Karitzuian species the first sign of aging is senility, which can show up even earlier than basic whitening of hair and aching joints! A lack of mental stability is especially present in Shadow creatures; the lowest recorded age of age-induced insanity was 17 in human years.
- On that note, Karitzuians become crazy a bit differently from humans. Aside from a complete spiral into mental chaos, a Karitzuian can vainly hold onto its sanity for almost a decade until all efforts prove futile. However, before this true insanity starts up a strange "semi-insanity" stage, which comes across as a dangerous - or simply baffling - outlook on life, punctuated by spells of unpredictable behavior and mood swings.
- Gender dimorphism is uncommon among Karitzuians; it is very easy to mistake one gender for the other, especially in "cloaked" beings like Ice Spirits where very few of such distinctive features are visible.
